If you're old enough to remember the Sensible Software 16-bit classic Cannon Fodder then you are in for a treat! Talented DarkBASIC programmer Andrew Vanbeck has created a fantastic 3D "guns 'n glory" Cannon Fodder clone featuring loads of alien scum to waste, crates to collect and jeeps to zoom around in! You take control of four soldiers and move them around the map taking out all aliens. The camera can be moved by nudging the mouse to the corners of the screen and rotated/zoomed with the cursor keys. The aliens put up a good fight, shooting back and grouping up on you. Should a comrade fall, your firepower is diminished and things get a lot harder. There are some lovely graphical touches in the game, from the dust trail following the jeep, to the animated water complete with swimming fish. The controls do take some getting used to, but it's worth the effort. The only real criticism is that when you're left with a large map to explore and only one alien left to find, it can take a while - some kind of mini-map would have been useful. An excellent title though and one you should invest some time in playing.
